Minecraft's Notch says EA is "methodically destroying" gaming →

Indie darling “Notch” is a little upset that megacorporation Electronic Arts is coming out with an “indie bundle” - and I can’t say I blame him.

Frankly, Notch’s statement doesn’t make much sense. These games are being published by EA, so it’s their job to promote and distribute these games as effectively as possible. They would have been making money off these games whether they bundled them or not. Is he upset because of the marketing strategy?

I think it’s good to be concerned about EA and its adverse influence on game development and publishing, but the outrage here is that “bundles” are “our thing.”

EDIT: For the record, even with the discounts I’m not interested in buying these games, so I’m not a heavily invested party in this.
